LEARNING PROMPTS FROM WEEK 1 13/01/2022

This week to begin thinking about the projects I will be doing this year, I completed 5 learning prompts, and a SWOT analysis on myself, which is shown below.

Where have I been?

College – BTEC engineering. I mostly enjoyed the design process, G+M codes to create a tealight out of wood. I also really enjoyed group work and the project managing/time management aspect of that.

I was very quiet during my two years at college and didn’t immerse myself in my studies/socially within my class and this is something I want to be different at university.

What don’t I like?

I’ve discovered that I don’t particularly like leading projects, as I do not have that much confidence in my decisions.

I struggle with public speaking, this is something that I would like to improve on during my second year at university.

I’m more comfortable being given a role or being chosen to help with planning and time management on top of my other roles.

What sort of person am I?

I enjoy working with others and would rather be in a sociable working environment, although I do enjoy spending time doing individual work and bringing it altogether as a team.

What do I care about/believe in?

I care a lot about the environment, green energy and I would rather work for a company that emphasises importance in those things, over profit.

What do I want to get to/how I will?

I want to become more confident in the choices I make as an engineering student, and therefore will have more confidence in job interviews when I graduate.

I will take part in group projects with my classmates to become more familiar in working with others, and will present my ideas as best I can so that I can get feedback on my ideas and consequently feel more natural and confident in making decisions.
