We had a Teams meeting on 21/02/2023

Ideas that were discussed:

  1. Different wheel options to fix the weight/bearing issue
  2. Noise dampening and sound cancelling to reduce MRI noise pollution (self-cancelling tech, sound absorbing shapes & materials)
  3. Self-cleaning materials to eliminate bacteria build up (example. Silver kills bacteria,  treating materials with it  is effective)
  4. Adjustable cuff to accommodate limbs of varying size
  5. Maybe look into making the coil more accessible for larger patients? Lots of differently sized coils is good but may cause humiliation for the patient if they need a larger coil, medical anxiety etc etc.

A second teams meeting was had on 12/03/2023

Concepts that were decided on were:

1)Movement of device (wheels, treads, etc) Jack’s idea

2) Adjustable cuffs (to accommodate limbs of varying sizes. Example: children, large sized adults, etc)

3) Anti-microbials (treated materials, bio resistant compounds, non porous materials)

4) Sound dampening (sound absorbing materials and shapes, noise cancelling tech)

We decided on creating a physical brochure to present to the folks at Sussex. This would help drive the conversation and possibly open access to research that they’ve already done in a particular area.
