Trip to see Sussex University’s desktop MRI scanner

On the 5th of December, myself and the other second year students who study Design engineering went to Sussex University to take a look at a desktop MRI scanner in the Clinical Imagining Centre (CISC) talk to the people who work at the centre.

We learnt about the low-field scanner, and the issues that we could possible solve.

ABOUT THE CLIENT:

“CISC is part of Brighton and Sussex Medical School and collaborates closely with the School of Psychology and School of Life Sciences at the University of Sussex.

Our aim is to facilitate cutting-edge, world-class research into areas as diverse as addiction, emotion, consciousness, psychophysiological mechanisms, neurological disorders, cognitive and social performance, inflammatory disorders, cancer, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.” (1)
