Regulations

  1. The guttering product must not affect the flow capacity of the guttering.
  2. The guttering product must not decrease the effective diameter of the guttering.
  3. The guttering product must not impede the discharge of water from the guttering to the outlet.
  4. The guttering product must not negatively affect the structural integrity of the guttering.
  5. The lamppost product must not decrease the effective light emitted from the lamppost.
  6. The lamppost product must not affect the electronic efficiency of the lamppost.
  7. The lamppost product must not negatively affect the structural integrity of the lamppost.

Environment

  1. The products should be resistant to adverse weather conditions, specifically heavy rainfall.
  2. The products must be resistant to holding soil, water and plant life.
  3. The products must not become damaged by roots.
  4. The products must withstand a load of at least 1kg per metre of guttering.
  5. The products must withstand regular use by wildlife.
  6. The products must withstand being covered in plant life.

Life-Span

  1.  A minimum of 40 years is required for the products.
  2. The products should not degrade when hosting plant life for 40+ years.
  3.  The products should be made as if they will never be replaced.

Performance

  1. The guttering product must drain water without leaking soil into the guttering.
  2. The lamppost product must drain water without dripping onto people below.
  3. The lamppost product must drain water without leaking soil onto the pavement below.
  4. The guttering product should attach to standard guttering without modification.
  5. The lamppost product should attach to poles with a diameter of 115mm or less without modification.
  6. The products should attachments for ropes to connect the products together.
  7. The products should require little to no maintenance to maintain their functions.
  8. The guttering product should be modifiable to suit different lengths of guttering.
  9. The products should become permanent fixings when they’re attached to guttering/lampposts.

Materials

  1. The products should not be biodegradable.
  2. The products must not degrade when wet.
  3. The products must be rigid.
  4. The guttering product should be able to be deformed to a small degree, between 10 and 20mm, in order to clip under the existing guttering attachments.
  5. The lamppost product should not react with or degrade aluminium or steel lampposts.
  6. The products should be colourful and draw attention to themselves.
