In memory of Kevin Fossey

Kevin Fossey, a long-standing member of staff and Senior Lecturer at the School of Education, sadly passed away peacefully on 16 June 2016.

Exhibition of books for young people with disabilities

Teaching placements at Brighton

The University of Brighton’s School of Education arranges over 2,500  placements each year. We work with over 600 schools and colleges in the region and these established partnerships ensure that our trainees receive the best possible education and support.

Support during the NQT year and beyond

Our teacher training graduates achieve excellent rates of employment which are consistently above the sector average. Over 100 of our current final year trainees have already advised us of teaching posts that they have secured for when their course finishes this summer.

The Education BA(Hons) course at the University of Brighton prides itself on the wide variety of placement opportunities available to students.

Employability Programme for Education BA students

The Education BA(Hons) employability day is an annual event organised for second year students prior to their eight-week placement. This year’s event took place in February and included a number of guest speakers from both inside and outside the university.

Glyndebourne Opera House Visit

Secondary art and design and modern foreign language PGCE students were treated to a visit to Glyndebourne Opera House, just outside of Lewes, for a special showing of Mozart’s ‘Die Entführung aus dem Serail’.
