Cycling for Schools

CPD opportunity for trainee and early career teachers, and teaching assistants

Profile protrait of Dr Marlon MoncrieffeWe have teamed up with British Cycling, Sustrans and Brighton and Hove City Council to offer a continuing professional development opportunity for trainee teachers, those just starting out in their teaching career and classroom assistants.

Cycling for Schools was conceived by the School of Education’s Dr Marlon Moncrieffe, pictured, who will also lead on the project.

Eight FREE places are available.

What’s involved:

  • 25th May 2022 – Meet at the University of Brighton with partners to plan and
    design a community cycling engagement afternoon (Sunday, 12th June) in celebration of
    National Bike Week (6 -12 June).
  • 12th June 2022 – Take part in accredited learning and training with British
    Cycling Education coaches at the University of Brighton.

  • Support the creation of research evidence to inform local and national policies for cycling,

  • Contributions to school cover costs will be made available if you take part in this research.
