Postgraduate Education Research Conference

The Postgraduate Education Research Conference is an annual event held by the School of Education for students from the Education MA, Guernsey PGCert and EdD programme. The event is also open to final year students from all BA(Hons) and PGCE routes who are interested in further study.

The conference is a celebration of the school’s research community and offers both staff and students the opportunity to come together to share their work, and to support and stimulate each other.

The day consists of group discussions, research poster presentations from second year students studying the Education MA, paper presentations by MA graduates, EdD students and staff presentations from guest speakers, Catherine McConnell, Jane Melvin and Mark Price.

Mark Price said: “From masters dissertation proposals to draft doctoral thesis, our research students showed passion, insight and criticality in equal measures – a truly inspiring day!”

Jane Melvin also commented on the event: “I always advise postgraduate students never to pass up an opportunity to present on their work, so being invited to open the conference with other colleagues was both an honour and a thought-provoking process.”

Certificates were also awarded to some of our full-time Education MA students for their contribution as peer mentors for the Assignment Support Team (AST).
