Support during the NQT year and beyond

Our teacher training graduates achieve excellent rates of employment which are consistently above the sector average.

Over 100 of our current final year trainees have already advised us of teaching posts that they have secured for when their course finishes this summer. And we’re expecting a huge surge of job announcements when trainees return from the Easter break – we’ll all be joining them to celebrate their first posts.

Schools in our partnership benefit from being able to share details of vacant posts, suitable for Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs), with us, which we in turn share with our final year trainees. Last year we advertised hundreds of vacancies in this way.

We demonstrate a commitment to our alumni as they enter into the teaching profession through a number of events and resources available during the NQT year and the critical years post-qualification. We offer help with an evolving and supportive programme of NQT and Early Career events and resources.

Our annual NQT conference is just one example and you can read about the January 2016 NQT Conference here. We are already planning an event in September 2016 to initiate our 2016/17 NQT support programme.

Additional information about what we do to support those in their NQT year and beyond is available on our website at www.brighton.ac.uk/nqt
