Inclusion Steering Group – all NQTs welcome

School of Education welcomes all NQTs to join us:
Inclusion Steering Group
Wednesday 9th March 3.15pm, Falmer

If you are an NQT and interested in participating in our focus groups, please join us at the first of three Inclusion Steering Groups taking place on Wednesday 9th March.

Email Rosie Moore at r.moore2@brighton.ac.uk to confirm your place.

The group will be made up of lecturers, researchers, teachers, students, Local Authority representatives, senior leaders from support services and community organisations.

The forum is open to discussing issues and developments in inclusion locally, sharing good practice and informing decisions about our approaches here to training teachers. We consider it valuable partnership work.

A substantive item on the agenda will be how we train teachers to manage behaviour in schools.
The group will be attended by Brighton and Hove behaviour consultant as well as the usual range of professionals and we will look at how to ensure the best training provision for our students to enable them to be effective practitioners.

Other items on the agenda will be the current SEND landscape locally and in particular how to develop pupil participation for learners with SEND from training and into professional practice. We will also look at new initiatives in the School of Education around inclusion, latest research and other items that the group wish to discuss.

We are very keen to have representation from NQTs as professionals who are at the beginning of their journey and have recently completed their training.

We would be delighted if you are able to be part of this group or attend on this occasion; we would really welcome your views.

There are no parking restrictions at Falmer after 3pm and tea and biscuits will be provided.

We look forward to seeing you there.
