About our ECR network

Being an ECR is such an exciting time where you can begin to forge your own way into academia.  It’s full of opportunities to conduct exciting research, collaborate and learn from other academics and share your work across the community.  However, it is also a hugely challenging environment which can be difficult to navigate.

Here at the University of Brighton there are many opportunities and resources for ECRs to help them develop into leading researchers, through a vast number of skills workshops and events on offer. I look forward to creating new opportunities for our ECRs and ensuring that our research environment continues to promote inclusivity, collaboration and personal well-being. My role as ECR Ambassador is to work with our School reps to ensure that our vibrant ECR network continues to thrive and develop, as well as has a voice within the University when it comes to shaping our research culture.

If you identify as ECR, regardless of whether you are part-time, full-time, with a permanent contract, or a fixed-time contract, please send me an email to say hello and join our mailing list for a regular newsletter.  You can also keep an eye out for opportunities via the ECR Twitter feed (@ECRBrighton) and at an institutional-level keep an eye on messaging through Staff News and the R&E newsletter.

I look forward to hearing from you,
