Dress and Textile History Teaching Collection
Walter Fielden Royle designs for printed dress textiles, 1920-1961.

Teaching Collection number TEAF 329

This packet is the only one in this entire collection which contains designs not produced in Walter Fielden Royle’s textile design studio. There are a dozen samples cut into thin strips of candy-striped sheeting designs produced in Manchester produced by an unknown designer. These were given to Eric Ross (Ray Watkinson’s brother-in-law) by a designer colleague named Summerfield.  Some of these design off-cuts pinned to paper are dated to 1961.
