Is music tourism a perfect storm of activism and anarchy, of people and passion that’s uniquely positioned to bring about environmental behaviour change in the Generation Z festival goer? It was nine years as a festival photographer, and especially this chap I photographed for Glastonbury TV in 2019, that started my journey to find out.

It’s undeniable that a certain magic is created when communities are created in green-field camp sites where music and nature are the only two staple ingredients. By undertaking phenomenological research I hope to find the elusive essence of the festival experience and offer insights into how this magic can be captured to create a more aware and caring future.
