I have always had an interest in Greek Mythology and having recently watched Zeuses Blood, an animated show following a greek myth, I thought this would be a great idea for a comic. From this, I looked at a variety of Mythological stories and the one I chose to illustrate had aspects of a hidden meaning, a moral of making sure your arrogance and greed don’t get the best of you. The Myth I chose was “Artemis and the Aloadae Giants”. From this, I developed ideas for character design, and from looking at illustrators such as Alice and Martin Provensen, Richard Coleman, Alan Rogerson, and Cleon Peterson, I developed a style using quite simple line drawing and sticking only to blacks, whites and Greys.
