Blind Drawing

One of the first tasks we were set was to try blind portraits, drawing someone without looking at the page. This posed some obvious challenges but the outcomes were very interesting and actually more accurate than I would have thought. The toughest aspect of this project was not peeking down at the paper to see what you were creating. In a workshop, one of which we were actually able to go to in person, we did these drawings with different media and alongside this we would talk to the person opposite us. This was beneficial as it was a distraction from the art and so stopped me from looking at it before it was completed. It was also a good opportunity to get to know some of the people on my course. Below are the original drawings from the workshop and the ones above are of my flatmates.
