For the final design of this piece, I wanted a comic style story to show the creation of the masks. I had initially planned on just going the piece as shown on the left with black shading. However, once I added colour to the piece I felt it added more character and especially with the masks it showed this idea of a mismatch of desirable features. The dull colour pallet was used to suggest this idea of working in the darkness as this is not an activity that can be done in view of others. The Tv in the foreground is there to connect to this idea of wanting to look like the perfect celebrities. In the final panel where he’s put on the mask, I tried to show an expression of joy that also looks awkward as the skin doesn’t properly fit his face but he is still happy with what he created. So far I feel this has been my most successful project and it has been the one I’ve enjoyed the most.
