Project title: Developing and implementing a digital learning toolkit for Physiotherapy courses
Project partners: Lieselotte Corten (Principal Lecturer, Course Leader BSc Hons Physiotherapy) and Ewa Bancerz (BSc Hons Computer Science, School of Architecture, Technology and Engineering)
During this digital learning partnership project, we created a digital toolkit for use in the physiotherapy curriculum. Our digital learning partner, Ewa, created a survey for the students, to investigate the tools that are currently used in teaching and in their own learning.
Lieselotte, the course leader of the BSC (Hon) Physiotherapy programme, gathered similar information from the staff team. This identified 10 tools which were most often used on the programme:
- MSTeams
- My Studies
- Powerpoint
- Youtube
- Padlet
- Nearpod
- Kahoot
- Panopto
- Wiki tool
- Mentimeter
Some of these tools already have extensive guidelines for use, such as MS Teams, MyStudies and Panopto. The links to these training tools will be shared with staff and students. For the other tools, a document with useful links and videos has been created which will be made available for the students and staff, as an easy-to-use resource.
Furthermore, the project identified the need for student training for some of these tools, to allow effective use on the course. Therefore, a Belong at Brighton Extra activity for new year 1 students will be dedicated on improving digital literacy skills, which is planned to be run by year 2 and 3 students who have now gained insights in these tools.
The project provided the students and staff with a valuable resource and will hopefully further develop both staff and students digital literacy for the most commonly used digital tools on the programme.
