Rachel Carson

She was a born in 1907 and was famous for being a marine biologist. She was the founder of the environmental movement. She was a writer. Her book called “silent spring” lead to a change in public opinion on pesticide use which lead to a further ban on DDT and other pesticides. This movement lead to the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She was awarded the presidential medal of freedom.
