Workshop Brief: How to style and invent a fictional character.
Like the photography workshop, this is one I really enjoyed. I felt it has really help develop my ideas for what sort of subculture I want to represent and how it relates to sustainability, whilst making me reflect on the work I have done so far; it encouraged me to explore a different way of working and think more freely in my approach, the first part allowing me to work as a group within collaging to gain an understanding of other peoples perspectives whilst expanding my own, and the second part helping me gain an understanding that clothing doesn’t have to necessarily have to be styled/portrayed in a way that it was purposed for – which made me think of how I could repurpose clothes to fit my ideas regarding sustainability.
It has also helped me feel more confident in creating a narrative in an image (somethingI explored earlier) as it gave the garments purpose.
