Cancellation of the seminar and workshop – UCU strike.


Centre for Transforming Sexuality and Gender seminar with Annukka Lahti  our  International Visiting Research Fellow and Meg-John Barker. The seminar will be a dialogue, in which we explore connections and sparks between their work on LGBTQIA+ breakups and queer grief.

Speaker biographies

Annukka Lahti (she/her) is an Academy of Finland postdoctoral fellow at the University of Eastern Finland. The interrelations of intimacy, power, sexuality, gender and affect are at the heart of her research interests, and she has studied them for several years from queer and affect theoretical, and recently posthuman perspectives. Lahti has published studies on affective inequalities and intimacies, queer and heterosexual relationship contexts, singlehood and LGBTIQ+ breakups. She is a co-editor of the edited volume Affective Intimacies, published by Manchester University Press (2022).Currently, she is examining LGBTIQ+ separations in two different cultural locations in the Academy of Finland-funded project Where the rainbow ends: the becoming of LGBTIQ+ separations  (project 349408, 2022-2025). Meg-John (MJ) Barker (they/them) is a writer, zine-maker, collaborator, contemplative practitioner, and friend.
