Nominations for LGBTQ Undergraduate Dissertation Prize

This call is for nominations for the University of Brighton annual LGBTQ+ research undergraduate student final year dissertation/ project prize for University of Brighton Students.

Any final year dissertation or project, submitted to any department or program in the University of Brighton, is eligible if it addresses a topic relevant to lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer and transgender studies.

The work should deal with a theoretical issue, practice or empirical aspect important to the field of sexualities, genders and LGBTQ+ Lives.

Submissions are currently being accepted for the 2021/2022 Award.

We accept submissions for dissertations/ projects that were completed and approved no later than September 2022.

Entries can be submitted by staff or students themselves.

The prize consists of an award of £150.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the 2020/2021 prize winner, BA English Language and Creative Writing graduate Catherine Entringer.

How to submit a nomination:

Please send a letter of nomination via email to Centre for Transforming Sexuality and Gender – sexgencentre@brighton.ac.uk . If a hard copy is needed for review (for example project portfolios/ DVDs), please email l.j.harvey@brighton.ac.uk to organise postage/ collection.

The deadline is: Sunday 12th February 2023.

The committee will announce their decision in the autumn and the award will be presented to the winner in conjunction with a Centre for Transforming Sexuality and Gender event.
