I would like to think my first week back on crocheting has been a success. All the previous information I have learnt about crocheting from earlier years came flooding back and I found my first project of making a bucket hat really fun. It took a couple of tries to get the foundations of the hat looking right, and keeping count of stitches did become the bane of my life for a few days, but once I got a roll going I was powering through and finished the product in 2 days! I’m super happy with the way this hat turned out!
The success of my first project inspired me to try out another project as well, after looking a bit on youtube for some ideas I came across this tutorial for a halter top: EASY Crochet HALTER Top Tutorial | How to Crochet Crop Top
I really enjoyed making this one because it is actually something that I would wear so it motivated me even more to complete it. I used a day that I didn’t have University to make a start on this project and completed it the same day. It did become quite tedious at times as it felt like the rows were never ending but with Netflix playing in the background it made it a lot easier and I discovered that I was better at multitasking than I thought!
I absolutely love how this turned out, as I said previously, this is something that I would wear myself so I can’t wait till it gets a bit warmer and I have a festival to wear this at!
Next week I am wanting to build my skills at some more complex projects and techniques. I still struggle with magic ring starts and a few different types of stitches so I want to do a few projects that will help me master these.
Therefore, I have decided that for next week I will make a crochet hanging plant, as this uses some more complicated techniques such as the magic ring. I also hope to make, if there is enough time, I different style of top which includes more colour changes as I am still trying to get to grips with that. I will link the tutorials I will be following below:
