Rust

I am starting to go through the archive of James Gardner’s plans, drawings and sketches with their preservation needs in mind – and have just come across this rusty paperclip. I simply had to share with you this short photographic story as a reminder of the dangers of using ‘normal’ steel paperclips with archival materials – if possible, it is advised to stick to brass or stainless steel that are guaranteed not to rust!

Much happier with brass!
