Escape room game at European Conference on Games Based Learning, ECGBL 2020
Antonia Stylianou, User Experience Design MSc student was Runner up at the educational student game competition that took place at the 13th European Conference on Games Based Learning (ECGBL 2020) on 24-25 September 2020 https://www.academic-conferences.org/conferences/ecgbl/
The game she submitted was an educational escape room about information security awareness that she developed with her classmates Muriel Shields, Dario Miscioscia, and Tiny Jiang as part of their coursework for Design Thinking module.
The game can be played at https://chrysalis-mandarin-htk8.squarespace.com/home-b
Although educational games developed by our students made it to the final 20 and were shortlisted in 2019 and 2018, it’s the first time that our students get so close to 1st place in this international competition. See below the results of the competition as sent to me by the organisers.
We’d like to congratulate Antonia for this success and hope it will be repeated at next year’s conference that will take place in Brighton.
