Comics REG member Jon Mason is taking part in a number of academic and public-facing events over the Summer, starting with:

The Imaginative Landscapes and Otherworlds online conference on Saturday June 14th.

This half day conference includes a selection of talks about legends and folklore around the UK, with Jon discussing tales about Shape Shifting Water Horses (a.k.a. Kelpie) as part of a panel on “Imaginative Creatures of Aqueous Realms” from 11am.

On Wed 18th Jun – Taliesin: A Tale of Power, Pandemic and Environmental Catastrophe, at Birmingham Storytelling Cafe – a showcase for one of Jon’s favourite Welsh legends – emerging from upheaval, the British kingdoms are graced by a very special boy, who will go down in history as the greatest bard of all time. Tickets from £10, doors open at 6.30pm

On Fri 4th Jul – Twilight Tales, at The Paddock, Lewes – Jon will telling tales at this free end-of-school event for families from across the town, to celebration children leaving their first school and moving on to their second.
