Guardian cartoonist Steven Appleby is currently the subject of an exhibition at gallery Space Station Sixty-Five in Kennington, South London. Nothing is Real showcases the wide range of the artist’s work from early days as a newspaper cartoonist, to character design on the strip and children’s sci-fi animation series Captain Star, to recent graphic novel Dragman.

From 5pm on Friday 25th April, Appleby will be chatting about Dragman, with Comics REG member Alex Fitch. Following a talk about the history of the project, Fitch and Appleby will discuss how themes of the graphic novel were first explored in Appleby’s strip Loomus, mixed with an interest in superhero comics, and desire to create a long-form narrative.

Please book a free ticket to this Q&A, and arrive in plenty of time to have a look around the exhibtion, which runs until May 5th.
