Susan Sainsbury is a Brighton-based illustrator, seamstress and author of three graphic novels. She is a former graduate from the University of Brighton’s MA in Sequential Design, and on Weds 30th October will be talking about her new book Undressed, a series of linked illustrated stories from one woman’s life, highlightinghow she expresses her ideas and personality through her clothes. It deals with the pressure to conform and the need the express ourselves as individuals through what we wear. Susan will be chatting about her graphic novel alongside Suzanne Joinson, a Worthing-based author of two novels and is Reader in Creative Writing at the University of Chichester. Suzy will be revealing her memoir of growing up on a council estate in 1980s Crewe, The Museum of Lost and Fragile Things, where her parents were followers of The Divine Light Mission cult.
