Today Fred and I worked together to draft patterns for the 2 looks we intend to make from entirely festival waste.
We will be using the garments and items collected from our charity warehouse visit, and repurpose them into 2 functional outfits – consisting of a hooded jacket & trousers, and a poncho coat & trousers. We investigated which style of jacket we would look to make, and used Fred’s designs to help with this. We chose to adapt a Parka coat pattern, making our own style adjustments where necessary.
We intend to use the completed looks for a photoshoot to promote our project, and to raise awareness of the usefulness of wate left behind at festivals. We will be using these photos and content across our social medias.
The looks will be accompanied by bags, hats and accessories in the photoshoots, all made by members of the group. Today I continued to sample bags that I intend to make, and continued to cut patterns for these before making.
