WEEK ONE
Within this first workshop Rachel took us throught he requirments and basis of what the next module would look like touching on many different artists stylists and photographers, such as: Bethany Williams and Phoebe English. it became apparent that sustainibility would be the driving factor within this module which is something i am ver passionate about and was delighted to know we were focusing on. The way Rachel presented the different ways stylist re-purpose and upcylce clothes and fabrics to create a more forward thinking toward fashion spurred my idea of using rubbeer or something to do with tyres as these are regularly available and are seen most times as waste. we were assigned with bringing in a fashionable item that we could use within styling and photography and goven the task to put each of these items together to create shots. This proved to me to be very interesting and creative to see how we could use each item to play its own role within the design.

When styling these items we came up with the idea to go against the normal stereotypes of how each item is supposed to be worn and instead created a message to showcase that each item wasn’t just suitable for the ‘normal’ way to wear it this is emphasized by how we used the show as a hand bag and the scarf as a shawl. this was useful as it showed us that anything can be styled and you can always form a story behind the pieces or general piece and create and image that ultimately tells a deeper meaning.
