Equipment to be used for academic coursework only. Please bring your Unicard to borrow equipment.

When is the Media Centre open?

During term time, the Media Centre is open by appointment Monday to Friday between 9am – 5pm. The service is closed during vacation periods.

How long can I loan equipment for?

Generally for up to 1 week; longer periods can be considered (eg. degree shows) depending on availability. An appointment will be made on loaning an item for its return to the Media Centre. Items must be returned to the Media Centre at City Campus in person and not via post, courier etc.

What are the fines for late return of an item?

£2 per day up to a maximum of £10 per item; please contact the Media Centre ahead of the due date if there are issues regarding returning the equipment on time to avoid fines. Outstanding fines must be paid before further loans can be made.

How can I renew an item?

Email the Media Centre on mcg@brighton.ac.uk or call on 01273 643170 to renew an item for up to an additional week, depending on availability.

Will I get a reminder?

A reminder email will be sent to your university email address on the morning of the due date, and an overdue email will be sent the next day if items are not returned.

What if an item is lost, stolen or damaged?

Items issued are the responsibility of the borrower and any item lost, stolen or damaged will need to be replaced by the borrower. There is no insurance for any borrowed item. Please report any loss or damage to the Media Centre as soon as possible.
