Want to work for yourself?
Then sign up for beepurple’s FREE four-day summer school, The StartUp Hive 2024, to get you launch-day ready!
Every June, we, your Student Enterprise team, deliver a practical and engaging startup summer school, The StartUp Hive, exclusively for University of Brighton students and graduates.
This year, the FREE four-day course takes place from Monday, 10 June to Thursday 13 June, in the Leonardo Room, on Moulsecoomb Campus.
To get the most out of the Startup Hive, please come with an idea (even if it’s only a seed), for the business you want to launch. We’ll be working through the business model canvas planning template over the four days of the course. As you learn from our sessions and speakers, you will have the time and space to map out your purpose and mission, your business model, and your marketing activities, while also reflecting on what action you need to take in order to develop your business.
This course is perfect for you if you have an idea for starting your own business or community enterprise, or if you want to work on a freelance basis or as a creative practitioner, but don’t know what to do next.
The StartUp Hive offers a rich mixture of practical workshops, guest talks and Q&A sessions.
During our action-oriented sessions, you will learn how to validate your ideas, market your startup on a tight budget, find customers, manage your finances and keep it legal.
You will also meet some of our enterprising graduates who will share their startup stories with you.
As well as all these fantastic opportunities to learn, you will also have the chance to win £250, if you choose to enter our Pitching Competition on the final day.
By the end of the summer school, you will have the skills, confidence, mindset – and a business model canvas – needed to start your own thing, whatever that ‘thing’ is!
Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to explore your ideas and understand what it takes to work for yourself.
This unique course is worth £3000 but is available to you for FREE as a University of Brighton student or graduate.
The number of places is strictly limited!
To secure your place, you must book as soon as possible via our online platform Careers Connect:
The full programme for the summer school will be released as soon as we have it finalised!
