Graduate Entrepreneur Launches New Money Exchange Shop in Central Brighton

On Tuesday, 26 September, entrepreneur and University of Brighton graduate Mohammad Hussain (featured in the photo), opened a new branch of his money exchange business ‘Brighton FX’ in central Brighton.

Mohammad Hossain, Founder of Brighton FX, was joined by Councillor Mohammed Asaduzzaman, the Deputy Mayor of Brighton and Hove, at the official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday.

Having already launched shops in Worthing and London, Mohammad Hussain has returned to Brighton – the city where he studied his MSc in Accounting – to open his third branch of Money FX.

Mohammad Hossain graduated from the University of Brighton with an MSc in Accounting and an Association of Charted Certified Accounting qualification in 2017.

After completing his studies, Mohammad successfully applied for a Start-Up Visa – endorsed by the University of Brighton. He then dedicated a significant amount of time to carry out detailed market research, before opening his first money exchange shop ‘Worthing FX’ in Worthing.

Mohammad said, ‘My university degree and the support I have received from the beepurple startup team has contributed to the success of my business. I am really proud of my achievements, having grown a business which has created more than 10 full-time, skilled jobs, and is expected to generate a turnover of £20 million. I am excited that my business will support university students who need our services for currency exchange or international money transfers’.

Clare Griffiths, Business Development Manager (Entrepreneurship) at the University of Brighton said, ‘It is really inspiring to see that Mohammad’s hard work has paid off, and he has succeeded in growing a team, and opening a new branch in Brighton! It is also very encouraging to see that he has created so many skilled jobs within the local community. Well done, Mohammad!’
