Every June, the beepurple team delivers a practical and engaging startup course called ‘StartUp Hive’, exclusively for University of Brighton students and graduates.

This year, the free three-day course takes place from Monday, 12 June to Wednesday 14 June, in the Creativity Suite, Moulsecoomb Campus.

The course is for you if you have an idea for a business, freelance project or community project but don’t know what to do next. You are also welcome to attend if you are exploring self-employment as a career option but don’t know what you could set up.

The course is a rich mixture of practical workshops, talks and Q&A sessions.

You can download a copy of the course schedule here: StartUp Hive Schedule 2023

During this insightful course, you will learn how to analyse and validate your ideas, market your startup on a tight budget, find customers, manage your finances and keep it legal.

You will also have the chance to meet some of our enterprising graduates who are self-employed during the ‘Meet the Founder’ session.

And you will have the chance to win £250, if you choose to enter our Pitching Competition!

By the end of the course, you will have the skills, confidence and mindset needed to start your own thing – whatever that “thing” is!

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to explore your ideas, and understand what it takes to start your own business or go freelance.

This unique course is worth £3000 but is available to you for FREE.

To secure your place, you must pay a returnable, cash deposit of £20. We will email you how to do this, once you have booked your place. We will then give you back the cash when you attend the course.

The number of places is limited.

If you have any questions about the course, please email the beepurple team at beepurple@brighton.ac.uk.
