3 simple ways to ACE the Careers Fair on 11 May

You want a job and they want the next generation of graduate talent. A little simple prep means you’ll stand out from the crowd. ..

On 11 May 12 to 3pm, a whole host of local recruiters will be waiting for you in Elm House on Moulsecoomb campus. Applying to local jobs can be much less onerous than competing in lengthy application procedures against the rest of the UK, and the best bit is… you won’t have to move away!

So, they have graduate Jobs, part-time jobs, summer jobs, and placement years. Here’s how you’ll impress them.

  1. Come to the welcome talk at 12. To open this fair we will have a 20-minute chat on the staircase in Elm House Atrium. This is an excellent chance to get informed. You’ll hear from employers and the Careers  Team about what’s going on locally. You’ll have the chance to ask questions, or just listen in to see what others say.
  2. Read up about the companies attending. All the companies are listed HERE together with which subjects they’re interested in and what jobs they have. It really impresses employers if you’ve read about their company, and it shows that you’re keen.
  3. Be prepared to talk and ask questions. The employers will come along ready to tell you everything you need to know, but they’ll notice you much more if you show an interest. Tell them something about yourself and your interests, and ask them some questions about the job and company.
