This live  online panel event brings together some amazing ethical and sustainable Sussex founders to share their stories, insight and tips  with you.

What is the aim of the event?

We believe that any new startup should be mindful of its environmental and societal  impact.  In this live webinar, a cross section of East Sussex freelancers and social entrepreneurs who care, share their experiences and tips on running a business in an ethically minded, sustainable or socially responsible way.  They’ll tell you why they started up, the lessons they’ve learned along the way and how they live by their ethical brand values and bring them to life in what they do.  Bring along your questions for our panelists.

Who is on our panel?

Shiv Misra – is founder of @rootsnhoots , Brighton’s first plastic-free, zero-waste online delivery service and @kindlybrighton a sustainable supermarket in Seven Dials.  Shiv finally decided to take the mantle of climate action into his own hands and do his bit to save the planet. He helps his environment conscious customers to lessen their environmental impact and lead a zero waste lifestyle. He is also putting pressure on the big super markets to become more eco-friendly.

Kerry Watkins @social_for_good is founder and managing director of Social For Good, a local social media consultancy/agency.  The team work with purpose-driven organisations to help them use social media ethically, with integrity and to do good; to affect change, improve lives, and make a positive impact in the world.

Elena Drew @elenadrewthis is a University of Brighton textile graduate and a @uobbeepurple founder.  She is a digital illustrator and print designer employing informative designs which reflect a range of environmental issues and support education around climate change.  Her interest in the environment is a constant source of inspiration for her work.  She has a growing business selling cards and prints to ethical and sustainable retailers, charities and social enterprises and all her products are produced on 100% recycled and recyclable materials.  One tree is planted for every purchase!
