Undergraduate research opportunity in School of Education

Exploring Race, Ethnicity and (in)equality with Students Aspiring to be Primary School Teachers in UK Universities

The project aims to investigate how university educators explore issues of race, ethnicity and (in)equality within education degree programmes (attended by students aspiring to be primary school teachers) and to consider how students respond to, experience and apply these ideas both in the university classroom and in their professional placements.

The student will have the opportunity to:

  • Complete a literature review
  • Design and pilot a survey
  • Design and prepare focus groups.
  • They will also be involved in producing a short report outlining the interim survey findings.

As part of the placement, the student will be invited to attend the school’s annual research and enterprise conference, which will be held online on Monday 12th July.
