Ignite your entrepreneurial creativity with beepurple’s first founder story panel of 2021 – pandemic-proof startups

beepurple FOUNDER STORIES series

Wednesday, 10 February 2021, 5:30pm – 7:30pm, Zoom

To kick off the new season, we have invited three Sussex-based entrepreneurs from the food and drink industry who have all had to redefine their businesses and pivot in the face of the pandemic. They will share their entrepreneurial stories during the pandemic in this panel session: pandemic-proof startups.

You will learn first-hand how the resilience of these entrepreneurs has been repeatedly put to the test, while they have been forced to pivot and pursue new opportunities during the pandemic. They will share their hard-learned tips with you.

You will hear from resilient Founder and Managing Director of Brighton GinKathy Caton. Kathy will share her story on how she has led the transformation of Brighton Gin, now 8 years old, from being a small, independent gin distillery mainly focused on wholesale, to one which has had to innovate new products and business models for the consumer market.

Also with us will be Chloe Edwards of Seven Sisters’ Spices – a vibrant home-based food business – who has found creative and sustainable ways to build a growing local customer base for  her cooking. She runs cookery courses, makes bespoke spice mixes and chutneys and offers a home-delivery service – and more. She has absolutely nailed Instagram

Our third founder is Elisa Furci of Caccia & Tails who has created a focaccia and coffee house-making and selling amazing and authentic food. She also makes fresh homemade pasta and sauces to take home and cook for supper.

Once we have heard from all three, fearless founders, there will be a chance for you to ask questions, so that you can learn more about their entrepreneurial journeys and apply those lessons to your own ventures.

Wherever you are working from, you will be able to join all our workshops for free, online via Zoom and share experiences with your peer community.

Join us to get some real world inspiration from startup leaders and experienced practitioners you can relate to.

This particular event is open to University of Brighton students and alumni as well as Sussex-based local businesses.
