Cherish: Brighton & Hove City Council Disability Team

Brighton Seafront

Cherish is a service that provides social and leisure opportunities for 16 to 25 year olds with moderate to severe learning disabilities. They offer evening activities during term-time as well as a series of mini-bus based day trips throughout the school holiday periods.

Active Student have worked with the organisation and provided student volunteers to help support the staff of Cherish. Chris Kerridge from Cherish has given us feedback on his experience taking on student volunteers:

“The service from the University of Brighton’s Active Student team [in providing student volunteers] is consistently excellent. Without their work, we would not have the dynamic, fun and interested staff team that we are fortunate enough to maintain, thank you.”
