University of Brighton students take part in south coast innovation challenge

Nine University of Brighton students and recent graduates took part in an innovation challenge event at the University of Portsmouth.

All of them regular attendees of beepurple’s entrepreneurial training programme, they joined students from four other south coast universities to solve real-world business challenges presented by Portsmouth football club.

One competitive challenge involved reducing waste at football matches, the other looked at increasing attendance at women’s games.

They were split into seven groups. The winning group featured Stavros Giannis, a Brighton Business School Masters student studying Digital Marketing. The panel of judges included Holly Price from Santander Universities UK.

The day ended with a keynote speech from Will King, founder of King of Shaves, who talked about his entrepreneurial journey.
