Business Project and Research Resources for businesses – module pack for organisations

Business Project and Research Resources available (free)

No time for research, planning or strategies? Our students might be able to help.

Here at the University of Brighton, the Brighton Business School will have a large number of student research/business project teams available to work on local projects from January 6th to end of April 2020.

Do you need:

  • a business plan?
  • a marketing plan?
  • a finance/fundraising plan?

‘Developing Professional Practice in Business’ provides teams of 4 or 5 students to work with organisations to help develop a project. Organisations might want to investigate a particular activity or direction; test something out with customers/clients; run a survey; or carry out some marketing. The module helps final year students develop their employability and consultancy skills through the completion of the business project. We are now delighted to offer this opportunity to businesses, third-sector organisations and public sector partners within the Sussex area.

Do please read through and complete DB366 MODULE PACK FOR ORGANISATIONS 2019 20 and send to us at s.bentley2@brighton.ac.uk (no issues with receiving emails). We are receiving and confirming projects until 11th November 2019.

Students will be working in small groups to go in to an organisation to work on a project for 30 hrs per student in total (excluding writing up and feeding back). So this is quite a useful resource for organisations to take advantage of.

Previous successful projects have included:

  • Surveys for a community rail partnership; a University department; and small businesses
  • Evaluating careers and employment guidance tools
  • Creating a business plan for an organisation that had recently become a charity (from a community group) – the business plan the students created helped the organisation gain a year’s funding for their local project
  • Developing a loyalty rewards scheme for an eco car-wash

Could your organisation use some specialised help with plans or engagement?

Last academic year, students helped 41 organisations and teams and here’s some fabulous feedback:

“I am delighted with the students’ research project and their findings. They have undertaken some robust research and come up with an insightful report and some incredibly valuable recommendations.”

“We had a very positive experience with the students this year so would welcome the opportunity to collaborate again.”
