SEO London

SEO London’s mission is to widen access to career-enriching opportunities in leading industries for students from ethnic minority and low socioeconomic backgrounds. Have a read of their guest blog post to see what support they could give you.

SEO offers students support such as mock interviews, one-to-one coaching, industry insight events and work placements, networking opportunities and mentoring.

Who are we and how can we help you?

Whether you are at the beginning of your degree or in your final year, figuring out your next career steps, let alone accessing the right opportunities to support your professional progression, is a daunting task. This is further complicated by, on the one hand, the uneven playing field in the job market which disproportionately disadvantages students from ethnic minority and low socioeconomic backgrounds, and on the other hand, the ‘bottle-neck’ created by the challenging UK jobs picture which has made the few opportunities available even more competitive.

As a result, it is simply not enough for students, particularly those from under-served backgrounds, to achieve high grades in their degrees and expect to access, let alone succeed in, industries of their choosing. Today more than ever, under-served groups have to leverage the support of organisations such as Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) London, a charity which exists to create a world in which leading industries are wholly inclusive and representative of the societies they serve.
