MAKE A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. BECOME A ROYAL NAVY OFFICER.

From Policing the oceans to providing Humanitarian assistance, you will be using leadership skills from the start. With world-class training and skills development, and unmatched opportunities to travel the globe, the Royal Navy offers you a career like no other.

The Royal Navy want to hire students from STEM at Brighton University for their Officer Roles. These are management roles with a focus on technical skills; they are looking for students with analytical and logical dexterity, ambition and the qualities of a great leader.

The starting salary £25,000 from the moment you begin training, rising to over £30,000 after 30 weeks training. Your pay will increase as you rise through the ranks, with some senior Officers earning more than £90,000. In addition, you will receive a generous benefits package, including 6 weeks of paid holiday per year, subsidised accommodation, and a non-contributory pension.

WHAT WILL I ACTUALLY DO AS A ROYAL NAVY OFFICER?

There are 19 different Officer roles, so there is no single job description that can capture the extraordinary variety of life in the Royal Navy. However, this is a management role, so whichever specialism you are in, whether you are serving on ship or on shore, you will be in a leadership role managing teams of Ratings (non-Officers).

WHEN CAN I APPLY?

You can start your application while you are still studying (you do not have to be in your final year) and applications are open all year round, so you are not restricted like most graduate schemes.

The Royal Navy is a diverse organisation that welcomes ambitious graduates from a wide variety of backgrounds, and with a degree in any subject.
