Employers top tips from the Careers Fair – Part 3
So we are half way through the week with two top tips under our belt. If you didn’t make it to our Careers Fair on 8th November, don’t worry, as Employment Advisor at our Moulsecoomb campus I did some homework for you by chatting to our exhibiting employers and am sharing the top tips I’ve gathered from the event this week in a series of blogs. Today is part 3
Today’s top tip is Highlight Achievements
Employers are always looking for people who can stand out from the crowd. Two key ways of doing this is to highlight achievements and roles of responsibility – make them into their own sections, keeping the formatting consistent, providing when and where you achieved or lead a project or team. If you’ve won an award don’t forget to explain what it was for and if you know, mention perhaps who voted for it or how many people you were up against. A few employers I spoke to particularly like the idea of highlighting achievements at the very beginning of your CV as part of the profile.
Don’t forget we’ve got lots more great advice and tips on finding and applying for student, summer and graduate roles on our website https://www.brighton.ac.uk/careers/index.aspx
Alternatively you could come in and get the help directly from one of our specialist team members. All our details can be found online at https://www.brighton.ac.uk/careers/contact-us/index.aspx
Tune in tomorrow for more top tips from our Careers Fair employers.
