Researchers, postgrads and undergrads – need funding? Silly question…

September comes knocking, the leaves start dropping and we are happily(?) stressing out for the start of term. Never mind all that, there’s money to be had – be quick!

Closing 15 September! Canon Foundation in Europe – 15 Research Fellowships are offered to highly qualified European and Japanese researchers. Candidates need to have obtained at least their Master’s degree within the past ten years. Exceptional candidates who received their qualification more than ten years prior to application will also be considered. Applications welcomed from all fields of research. European Fellows pursue a period of research in Japan and Japanese Fellows at host institutions in Europe. Fellowships are awarded for periods of at least three months up to a maximum of one year. The Royal Society and JSPS fund research initiatives between the UK and Japan. Up to £12,000 for travel and subsistence is available from the Royal Society for UK based researchers to conduct 2-year projects, including a maximum of £2,000 for research expenses. http://bit.ly/2coMrtB

SnurkExpert offers an annual $1,000 college scholarship to university and college students. They are currently accepting applications for the award of the Winter 2017 scholarship. The funds for the scholarship, are paid twice at the beginning of each semester. http://bit.ly/2ciIm8w

Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD to their friends) offer financial support to anyone interested in study or research in Germany. Find out more and apply at http://bit.ly/1jnG9Z6

The Leverhulme Trust funds research and education in the arts, humanities, sciences and social sciences. As well as research grants, they offer fellowships for researchers at every stage of their career, grants for international collaboration and travel, and support for the fine and performing arts. http://bit.ly/2cKJDaw

IMechE offer scholarships and awards to Mechanical Engineering students, graduates *and* industry employees totaling £600,000 per year. Find out what’s on offer at http://bit.ly/2c3aHiG

Student loans for postgraduate masters degrees in ALL subjects, including taught and research programmes. Available for full-time, part-time and distance learning courses. Loans up to £10,000, in three instalments per year for full time courses, part-time loans capped at £5,000 per year. More information on the university website or the FindAMasters website.
