What’s it like to work at 5 Squirrels

Vikesh Kaushal
I started at 5 Squirrels in December 2015 as an intern having recently graduated with a degree in media practice. The internship looked really exciting for me because it gave me the chance to actually and practically put what I had learned at Uni into a real life working situation.
I thought that by joining an early phase high growth start up I could also quickly gain experience in other areas of interest including marketing and commercialisation.
I quickly realised that my input and experience had an immediate impact on the company’s performance and could easily track this.
It was a bit of a baptism of fire as the company is very dynamic and I got the chance to get involved in every aspect of the companys activities which is really exciting.
I am now working full time at 5 Squirrels following the internship in my role as Digital Marketing executive and have identified to the founders that our performance will be really enhanced by having a fulltime graphic designer.
That’s what I really like, its a small team and everyone’s opinion counts, we take each other seriously, hence why we are now recruiting for an intern Graphic designer with a view to creating a fully functioning permanent role.
I’d really recommend joining the team here at 5 Squirrels because working in a start up is a great way to hone and improve your skills, I find myself always learning something new. I would recommend this role to anyone who wants to get started in the creative industries and show off what you can do, while working in a fun, relaxed and focused environment.
