Jobs available at Hastings Direct. Meet them at the Careers Fair.

Hastings Direct recruits at Careers Fairs. Here are their top 3 tips to impress and increase your chances of landing a job.

What do they do?

Hastings Direct is an award winning insurance company with over 1.7 million customers and one of UK’s leading insurance providers.

Interested in working for a big company with a relaxed work environment? Here’s some advice from Rebecca Harper, Resourcing Executive.

Top 3 tips

1. Try and do some research prior to attending the fair. If you know that there will be some businesses of interest, have a look at their website and get a real understanding of what they do. We are always impressed with those students who know a bit about Hastings Direct and have clearly done a little bit of preparation.

2. Come open-minded, be confident and feel free to ask as many questions as you like. That’s what we are here for!

3. If you are graduating next year, bring along a copy of your CV. Despite the looming workload, it is never too early to start thinking about the big wide world beyond graduating.

Who are they looking for?

You. A well-rounded graduate.

They look for high achievers but also students that can bring something a bit different to the table, someone with new ideas and suggestions. As a fast growing business, they want to recruit future leaders who have bags of ambition, enthusiasm and vision.

What do I do now?

Dust off your CV, do your homework and look for employers you are interested in at the Careers Fair on the 4th of November.

Why you should do your homework before meeting employers? Well, a Careers Officer once told me that asking “what do you do?” at the Careers Fair was like halfway through a date saying “so, what’s your name?”.

Don’t know who will be there? Here’s the list.

Let us know if you got a job, placement or internship at the Careers Fair. And if so, what kind of advice would you give to other students?

Good luck!
