With all this rain and short darker days are you already dreaming of long summer days?

Before you head to the travel agents, get yourself some work experience booked in first.

It starts here. Make a note in your diary, Summer Student Vacation Placement applications with the Thames Valley region are open as of 1st December for placements commencing in 2016.

 

 

 

These are opportunities for all 3^rd year Pharmacy Students. Here is all you need to know:

How long is the placement? 1- 2 weeks

When are the placements? June/July

Vacation places available Wexham Park 4, Milton Keynes 4, Royal Berkshire Hospital 4, Oxford University Hospitals 6, Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust 6

Is the vacation experience paid or unpaid? Unpaid

Am I applying to region or to specific hospitals? Although we carry out selection as a region your application letter needs to be tailored to the Trust(s) you would like to be considered for. At interview you will be asked to give a first and second choice

Are specific types of students prioritised? 3rd year students

When should I apply for a vacation placement? E-mail your application between 01/12/2015 and 31/01/2016

How should I apply for a vacation placement in the Health Education Thames Valley Region?  Covering letter – maximum 300 words and CV (no more than 2 sides of A4) and to include the names of two referees. All sent to the email address summer.students@nhs.net

When is the closing date for the application? 31 January 2016 or once 250 applications have been received

When will I be notified if I have an interview? By the end of March 2016

Will I hear if I am unsuccessful Unfortunately we are unable to individually reply to all candidates so assume you are unsuccessful if you don’t hear by end of March 2016. You may of course still attend the open days

When are the open days held? Open days for each Trust will be advertised via Pharmalife. They are usually held over the summer months.

When is the selection event? To be confirmed, provisionally week beginning 11th April 2016.

What does the selection event involve? This is subject to change but at present there will be an assessment followed by a group interview

Is there accommodation onsite at the Trusts? There is usually near-site or on-site subsidised short stay accommodation available at reasonable rates
