THINKBIG Brighton Workshops

Are you 13 – 25? Do you want to help your community with an innovative event, gathering, app or website? Want £300 and a load of advice and support to make your idea a reality? All for free?

Think Big is an initiative set up by O2 to reward entrepreneurial spirit and help young people give something back to their community. It could be, a pop-up restaurant, a summer playscheme, a youth radio station, a festival celebrating local music, a clubnight,  the restoration of a local landmark or building a website for your street – absolutely anything that involves the improvement of the community around you!

02 in conjunction with MakerClub is running half day workshops to get you started, with business mentoring and sessions designed to help you come up with an idea, or to put rocket boosters on one you already have.

Once they’ve done the session it’s up to the students to apply for their £300 project. Topics we will cover during the session are:

•  The world as it is vs the world as it should be
•  What is social action?
•  Digital skills
•  Project management
•  Project pitching and public speaking
•  The nature of power

All you need for this event is a good attitude and the desire to make something awesome. The workshops will be run on the15th, 16th and 23rd of August, at MakerClub on London Road, Brighton.
