How your business could benefit from a University of Brighton placement student

Despite the difficult circumstances of the past year, placements have continued for University of Brighton students. As we start to find our way out of the pandemic, now is the time to think about new talent to help future proof your recruitment.

Hiring a placement student can bring many benefits to your organisation. Thanks to our professionally focused courses, our students are work-ready, with transferrable skills to support your business needs.

Placements are a cost-effective recruitment solution that provides your business with an enthusiastic, motivated individual with fresh and innovative ideas, who you might want to recruit.

We have partnered with Eschmann for many years, the company has employed placement students primarily to help meet staffing needs. Here is what the Product Support Manager had to say about our students:

“They are taught the most modern methods of manufacturing, they’re bright, they’re enthusiastic, they help to bring the rest of the team up. It’s nice to have somebody that’s fresh and eager and motivated, coming in every day.”

The Institute of Student Employers (ISE) recently produced a student recruitment survey that showed that employers re-hire over half of their former interns and placement students.

Josh Travers, BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science took part in a placement year in a Biochemistry Laboratory at Brighton and Sussex University Hospital, he talks about his placement experience and how this impacted him:

“Not only did my work placement help develop my scientific, clinical, and personal skills, both in the workplace and at university, it has set me on a career path with excellent prospects.

After my year’s placement, I gained HCPC registration as well as employment with the lab where I am currently a registered biomedical scientist, all a result of the invaluable training I received.’’

The University of Brighton has students on a wide range of course who are looking for placement opportunities. Our placements teams are here to support, advise and help you throughout the entire process.
