This year’s Final Year students have all been given the challenge of tackling a social problem through design. Crime, energy waste, obesity and mental health are just some of the worthwhile topics they are tackling. In this week’s lecture, students have been debating which Research Methods would be the most appropriate to investigate user needs in relation to a given problem. The debate was engaging, energetic, thought-provoking and above all empowering and enjoyable. They have already set the course standards very high, and as the Course Leader (Dr Eddy Elton) I’m very much looking forward to working with them throughout the year on their design projects.
