Welcome to BrightOnline, a critical and creative journal for the University of Brighton’s School of Humanities. We showcase the outstanding achievements in scholarly studies of our fellow students while giving them the opportunity to enter the elusive world of academic publication.

We are a respected forum for Humanities students to share their critical essays, thought-provoking poetry, and creative prose. And with a long tradition of displaying the distinguished work of our students behind us, we remain committed to providing a highly esteemed platform for academic indevers.

As well as being published online, selected works will be brought together in an academic journal at the end of the year, showcasing the best and brightest that the University of Brighton has to offer.

Every submission is peer-reviewed, and edits may or may not be suggested, giving our students an insight into the process of academic publication, as well as ensuring the highest possible standard for each issue of BrightOnline.

At our core, we aim to give exceptional students a platform for their critical, innovative and scholarly works, to act as a bridge between their studiously written work and the academic community. And for many students, BrightOnline has been their first step into the exclusive academic publishing industry.

 

The Editorial Team

We are run by, and for, University of Brighton students, and have a keen interest and knowledge of the publishing industry. Our team members belong to various humanities departments, from undergraduate literature students to creative writing masters, brought together by a passion for excellent academic works.
